Mark and Wendy Gilbert

Mr and Mrs Gilbert both have in excess of eighteen years experience in the management of care homes. Mr Gilbert is a chartered surveyor and they both work full time in the Dovehaven Care Group, which consists of four homes in total. These include Dovehaven House, Dovehaven Rest Home and the Abbendon Nursing Home as well as the Dovehaven Nursing Home, all located in Southport, Lancashire.

[ Staff ]Joanne Hart

Joanne Hart has worked at Dovehaven Nursing Home for 8 years as Matron/Manager. She is a Registered Nurse and also has an NVQ in Management and NVQ in Mentoring. Joanne has had a varied care career which has involved working with young disabled and also in palliative care.

Care Staff

[ Staff ]The care staff are probably the people with whom you will have the most contact whilst you are here at Dovehaven Nursing Home. Helene Smith is the Senior Sister, she is a Registered Nurse and is also working towards an NVQ in Management. Helene has worked at Dovehaven Nursing Home for 7 years, with the last year as Senior Sister, she has 20 years experience of caring for the elderly.

Catering

Another very important team of people are the catering staff. We have two cooks working alongside a support staff in the catering department. The cook is responsible for providing high standards of food and beverages for residents and maintains the highest levels of food hygiene. We have regular reviews of all menus and welcome comments and suggestions from residents and their families on any aspect of the catering service.

Maintenance and Domestic Staff

There are also domestic and maintenance staff working throughout the home, responsible for cleaning, laundry and maintenance services.
