Mark and Wendy Gilbert

Mr and Mrs Gilbert both have in excess of eighteen years experience in the management of care homes. Mr Gilbert is a chartered surveyor and they both work full time in the Dovehaven Care Group, which consists of four homes in total. These include Dovehaven House, Dovehaven Nursing Home and the Abbendon Nursing Home as well as the Dovehaven Rest Home.[ Staff ]

Laura Smith

Laura is qualified to NVQ Level 4 in management and has been the Manager at Dovehaven Rest Home since September 1998. Prior to that she was the Deputy manager and has worked in the care industry for thirty years.

Care Staff

The care staff are probably the people with whom you will have the most contact whilst you are here at Dovehaven Care Home. Carol Leddy, the Deputy Matron leads the care team which consists of carers and senior carers. The title reflects that person’s level of experience and seniority. Dovehaven adopts a Key Care Worker Policy.

Catering

Another very important team of people are the catering staff. We have two cooks working alongside a support staff in the catering department. The cook is responsible for providing high standards of food and beverages for residents and maintains the highest levels of food hygiene. We have regular reviews of all menus and welcome comments and suggestions from residents and their families on any aspect of the catering service.

Maintenance and Domestic Staff

There are also domestic and maintenance staff working throughout the home, responsible for cleaning, laundry and maintenance services.
