Dovecote Manor Staff

Dovecote Manor is owned and run by Mark and Wendi Gilbert along with their son Luke Gilbert. Each member of the family have extensive experience within the care home field and are hands on owners being involved and visiting the home on a daily basis.

The Manager of Dovecote Manor is Jan Hunstone who is a Registered Nurse with over 30 years of experience, 15years of which have been in the residential care home environment. She holds an NVQ level 5 in Operational Management along with a Palliative Care Qualification. Along with the administrative team has overall responsibility for the co-ordination of the various teams who work within the care home.

Jan leads a team of staff who are experienced and highly trained. They all have either an NVQ in care or are working towards one, as well as having additional courses appertaining to the care of the elderly. All Senior Carers are also key workers responsible especially for a small group of service users ensuring that the optimum level of care is achieved along with the small personal touches that gives Dovecote Manor that home from home feel.

Our catering team are valued members of the home team, that maintain a high standard of meal preparation, taking into account individual taste and the medical needs of all service users. We operate a-la-carte dining but also have a main meal of the day running along side our varied light bites menu that is available throughout the day. Our menus are regularly reviewed and change made in accordance to feedback received from service users and their families. Our head chef meets with all service users on admission and then weekly to ensure that the high standard is maintained.

The remaining support staff consists of our valued domestics, laundry and maintenance staff, who ensure that all the home is clean, free from unpleasant odours, personal laundry is under control and the environment of the home is welcoming and well maintained.
