Philosophy of Care
Our aim is to provide the best possible care for the elderly, mentally disabled and infirm. Our philosophy is that elderly people with a mental disorder have the same rights as other people and should be treated as individuals. Our residents are encouraged to be as independent as they wish and we adopt a flexible and individual approach to care. Our friendly staff make it their priority to ensure that the needs of the residents are dealt with in a professional and caring way.
We place the rights of the residents at the forefront of our philosophy of care. We seek to advance these rights in all aspects of the environment and the services we provide and to encourage our residents to exercise their rights to the full even though they may well be suffering from different levels of dementia.
We recognise that life in a communal setting and the need to accept help with personal tasks are inherently invasive of a residents abilities to enjoy the pleasure of being alone and undisturbed. We therefore strive to retain as much privacy as possible for our residents.
